From the historical centre and walking along the Lungomare Barcellona (Waterfront Barcelona – a promenade equipped with cycle tracks) in a few minutes you will reach the Lido, the greatest stretch of sand in the whole territory that links Alghero to the suburb of Fertilia.

You will find several shuttle buses which link Alghero to the most beautiful beaches of the territory.
For those who decide to travel by car, it is recommended to leave it in the parking areas around the city and keep on by foot or bike

ZTL
Limited Traffic Zone. The historical centre is a “limited traffic zone’ and only authorised vehicles can access to it at all times.

For those without authorization, there are two times slots during which transit is permitted: from 8:00 to 10:30 and from 14:30 to 16:30 (except Sundays and holidays ban 24H)
Car parking

In many of the central areas in town there are authorized for-pay parking spots indicated by blue lines. Prices and times may vary according to the area (always check the road signs before parking). You will find a park operator to pay the parking fee.

Car parks indicated by white lines are free of charge, whereas yellow lines indicate reserved areas where parking is not allowed.
Free public car parks

● Piazzale della Pace
Located on the Lungomare Barcellona (opposite the Port) at the beginning of the Lido, this car park is also a parking area for tourist buses.
● Parking areas at the Port
The port area is divided into two different zones: One managed by the town council in which there is free parking for all cars and a second zone managed by port authorities and destined to the exclusive use of yachtsmen and boat owners, as indicated on the road signs.
