Public transport is run by the bus company A.R.S.T.
Urban Public Transport
There are five daily bus routes that run through the different areas in town.
● A.F. Alghero – Ospedale Marino – Fertilia
● A.P. Alghero – Pietraia
● A.C. Alghero – Carmine
● L.V. Linea Verde
● Al.F.A. – Alghero – Fertilia– Airport
You can buy bus tickets at all authorized retailers (tobacconist’s and newsagent’s) and at the ticket office within the “G. Manno’ Public Gardens (on the corner of Via Catalogna and Via Cagliari).
Bus tickets must be validated by a machine found on each bus (if the validating machine is out of order, please ask the bus driver to validate your ticket manually).
Each ticket is per person and per ride and can not be purchased on board.
● Single ride ticket € 1.00 (valid 90 minutes)
● Day ticket € 2.50 (valid until 24.00 on the day of validation)
● Ticket on board € 1.50 (valid 90 minutes, sold by the driver on board)
Public transport Town – Surrounding territory
The bus company A.R.S.T, managed by Fds, has created various routes connecting the town of Alghero to the main tourist attractions located in the surrounding territory.
● Alghero – Porto Conte – Capo Caccia (Grotta di Nettuno)
● Alghero – Sella & Mosca (Necropoli di Anghelu Ruju) – San Marco (Zona Industriale)
● Alghero – Fertilia – Zirra (S.M. La Palma) – Porto Ferro – Villa Assunta

Intercity public transport
The bus company A.R.S.T, managed by Fds, also guarantees interurban transportation.

Trains
This form of public transport connects Alghero to one of Sardinia’s main towns, Sassari.
From here, all departing trains link the Province of Sassari to the rest of the island.
Alghero’s train station is located in the “Pietraia’ area (via Don Minzoni)
En route to Sassari, the train stops at the following stations:
● Punta Moro – Mamuntanas – Olmedo – Arcone – San Giorgio – Molafà
Ticket: € 2.20 (one way) – € 3.80 (return ticket)
